After 15 months of war and mass destruction, the refugee Palestinians who have been displaced since the start of the war are finally able to return to Gaza.
As part of a ceasefire deal between Hamas and Isreal, the borders and restrictions placed on the city of Gaza have been lifted and Palestinians who fled are allowed to return either on foot or with their vehicles.
Earlier today, Monday 27th January 2025, Isreali military said they would allow the Palestinians to cross back to their hometown on foot from 05:00 am GMT and on vehicles from 07:00 am GMT.

The displaced Palestinians who have been living as refugees and in pitiful states since the war started in 2023 are happy to return to their homes finally.
According to the reports from Aljazeera, several hundreds of Palestinians are eager to return home, with many of them not minding if they have to walk, run or drive. In one report, a Palestinine said “I will start rebuilding my home-brick by brick, wall by wall”.
Another displaced person said in excitement at the news “We miss our home. We have been living in a tent for 470 days”. Another female Palestinian told a reporter from CNN, “We have been waiting for this day for so long. We want to return home, even though my house is destroyed. I miss my land and my place”.
The reaction of Palestinians tired from the 15-months old war has encouraged the Defence Minister Isreal Katz to make a post saying “We will continue to firmly enforce the ceasefires in the North and the South. Anyone who violates the rules or threatens the Isreali Defence Forces will bear the full cost”.
