Jay-Jay Okocha Makes Brutal Comment About Jamie Carragher
The Nigerian icon gave his thoughts on Carragher’s comments regarding the AFCON.

Jay-Jay Okocha delivered a brutal putdown of Jamie Carragher in response to the pundit’s controversial claims regarding the African Cup of Nations. Last weekend, Carragher landed himself in some hot water by suggesting that the tournament lacked the prestige of other international competitions and would never be considered as part of voting for the Ballon d’Or.

The Sky Sports pundit was immediately pulled up on this by Micah Richards and Daniel Sturridge, while others like Rio Ferdinand have also chimed into the debate. Now though, Nigerian legend Okocha has shared his thoughts while simultaneously calling out the former defender for his footballing ability.

Asked about the comments, the former Bolton Wanderers star said: “There are some players who will say something just without looking. If you look at their career, if you look at the type of football they played, you can’t understand, you know?

“I mean, you wouldn’t want your son to be like Carragher. So, he can never appreciate African football or the talents that come from Africa.”
