Vladmir Putin, the Russian president is ready to negotiate with the newly-sworn in U.S. president, Donald Trump on the ongoing Russian-Ukraine war.

According to the Russian president, it would be a good idea to sit with and discuss with President Trump on the two-year war. This came after Trump made threats to bear down on Russia and inflict damage to the economy if they do not end the war on Ukraine. Following that statement, Putin confirmed to being open for negotiations on ending the war.
In an interview with a Russian Television Journalist, Putin said “We are always open to this and ready for negotiations. It would be better for us to meet, based on the realities of today, to talk calmly. ” In the same light, Putin confessed to his diplomatic relationship with Trump, calling him pragmatic, trustworthy and businesslike.
Following his inauguration as the 47th President of the United States, Trump has been in the works for the resolution of the war in Ukraine, asking to meet Putin immediately. While there is no clear plan made to the public on how Trump plans to call for a cease-fire, it is heavily implied that Trump might be looking at freezing the war along the frontlines of both countries.
