Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has launched a blistering attack on his successor, Uba Sani, accusing him of excessive loyalty to President Bola Tinubu for personal benefit.
El-Rufai’s remarks were in response to Sani’s statements during a Monday interview with TVC News, where the governor expressed surprise at the growing wave of criticism against Tinubu’s administration from key founding members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Taking to his verified X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday, El-Rufai alleged that Sani’s unwavering support for Tinubu was influenced by federal reimbursements exceeding N150 billion that Kaduna State had received over the past 18 months.
“Each time I witness this governor’s excessive and embarrassing flattery, I used to wonder why. However, after confirming that Kaduna has been selectively granted over N150 billion in federal reimbursements, interventions, and grants under Tinubu, everything now makes sense.
“Defend Asiwaju all you want for the conditional cash transfer—he has certainly earned it coming from you. The people of Kaduna State will decide at the right time. Enjoy your day,” El-Rufai posted.
During the TV interview, Sani had criticized certain APC members for openly opposing Tinubu’s policies, labeling their actions as “regrettable” and “undemocratic.”
“I was shocked to see a coalition of politicians making such comments at this critical moment. Some even called for people to defy the government and take the law into their own hands. This, in my view, is undemocratic,” Sani remarked.
He further challenged Tinubu’s critics, urging them to wait until the 2027 elections if they believed they had enough support to remove the president.
