Agam Berger, an Israeli soldier spent more than a year in captivity and her return was celebarted by the ublic who called her a hero. In a statement made by Agam’s family, they are grateful to God for her safe return, and call her strong, faithful and brave for all she went through. The family also extend their thanks to the people of Israel saying “We want to thank the security forces and all the people of Israel for their support and prayers. Now Agam and our family can begin the healing process, but the recovery will not be complete until all hostages are returned home.”
After her release and return, Agam is set to meet medical personnel for checkups at the hospital.

The release of Agam Berger alongside two other hostages, Arbel Yehud and Gadi Moses, would mark the third batch of hostages released since Israel and Hamas came to a ceasefire agreement on the 19th of January 2025. The entire release process starts with a call and a location, after which a team from the ICRC (International Committee of Red Cross) goes out in vehicles to pick up the released hostages. Military personnel as well as medical professionals are also involved in the safe return of released hostages.
Since the confirmation of the ceasefire operation by both Israel and Hamas, 33 Israeli hostages held by Hamas are due to be released in exchange for almost two thousand Palestinian prisoners. Out of 33, 7 have been previously released, 8 are confirmed dead, three, including Agam were released today, and 15 more are due to be released soon.
